01 Career history?

I graduated in 1997 with a degree in Transport Management and joined the graduate programme at the Co-op as a traffic manager at their chilled and frozen depot. In 2002, I joined Jet at their routing office in Jarrow (my home town), before relocating to Humber to supervise the primary routing office there. I relocated to Scotland with Jet in 2006 and have been in my retail sales role since then.

02 Dream job if you weren’t doing this?

I’d love to own my own micro-brewery.

03 What do you drive?

A Seat Leon ST.

04 What would you like to drive? I’ve always liked American cars so a Dodge Challenger. I hired a Mustang on holiday once which was great!

05 Perfect day?

Spending time with my family my wife and kids.

06 Favourite team?

I’ve been a Sunderland fan all my life - the less said about that the better these days!

07 Favourite read?

I listen to a lot of audio-books in the car and am currently working my way through a Chris Brookmyre trilogy .

08 Favourite TV show?

Better Call Saul.

09 Best holiday?

I’ve done a few family road-trips in different parts of the US. I also like Italy.

10 Possessions you couldn’t do without?

My ’to do’ lists.

11 Most admire?

My daughter, Niamh. She battled cancer when she was 12. She’s now 18, and a smart young lady about to start university.

I’m not a big fan of heights, if I’m being honest!

16 Best business advice you’ve heard?

I think the Warren Buffet quote "Price is what you pay, value is

what you get" is very apt.

The variety.

We’ve just got a licensing agreement with Highland Fuels.

Weather forecasts.

Further change is inevitable, but there is still ample opportunity for operators with the backing of a strong brand like Jet.
