Oli Yeo of GripHero shares his love of basketball, good whiskey and The Dark Knight, as well as his hatred of dirty petrol pumps

01 Career history:

I first worked at AnTech designing, manufacturing and testing equipment for the petrochemical industry. Then Babcock International project managing large-scale submarine projects. And now GripHero bringing a new creation to life.

02 Dream job if you weren’t doing this?

To play in the NBA if I was good enough as I love basketball.

03 What do you drive?

Audi A6 with trimmings.

04 Perfect day?

Simple things a day at home playing with my two young kids (without any distractions), mowing the lawn with my son on my lap on the ride-on, ice-cream from the van which stops outside our house, evening BBQ with friends and family, watching the sun set on the horizon, whiskey...

Entrepreneur Revolution by Daniel Priestley such an inspiring yet simple take on both life and business. It makes you think.

06 Favourite film?

The Dark Knight.

07 Possessions you couldn’t do without?

Mobile phone and laptop.

Entrepreneurs breaking new ground I love hearing their back stories, the trials and tribulations they had to go through, their rewards and successes.

"It can be done."

"There’s so much spare time in the day."

11 Greatest achievement?

My wife and two children.

Poor health.

13 Pet hate? Dirty hands from fuel pumps (it’s been a pet hate ever since I could drive).

If it doesn’t scare you, you’re not thinking big enough.

16 Best thing about your job? The opportunity to bring something to life that aims to help both the everyday consumer and the retailer at the same time.

Achieving certification for GripHero. It’s been a very long journey.

18 What inspired you to start this journey?

When you wish there was a solution to an everyday frustration, but there isn’t one so you build one yourself.

19 Where do you want to be in five years?

Continuing to build the company.
