New bollard sleeve protects against vehicle scrapes

Addgards has developed a bollard sleeve to slide over existing steel bollards to protect against weathering and erosion. The sleeves are made from durable polyethylene that won't fade, scrape or chip like powder-coated paint.

Claire Flynn, sales manager at Addgards, stated: "On our initial visits to sites we noticed some forecourts had a typical bollard that took a lot of hits and scrapes, damaging both the car and the bollard. On further investigation we found the bollard was below the sight line of the driver and effectively was invisible to the driver when reversing or turning. By simply adding a taller sleeve to the existing bollard we made the bollard more visible, safer and it looked better with a more professional finish, in line with the rest of the forecourt."

When a major car manufacturer like Ford predicts that sales of its electrified cars will outnumber petrol and diesel models by 2022, does that ring alarm bells about the possible speed of change for forecourts?
