Orbis Tech has appointed Bob Laidlaw as chief operating officer for the UK region.

Laidlaw has wide experience in both the field of operations and business development having been part of the Torex CFS team and more latterly with TLM.

He commented: “The opportunity to join a progressive company like Orbis Tech was simply one I could not refuse. The foundation of the business is customer service and the ability to meet and exceed customer expectations.

“Orbis Tech offers open platform, end-to-end, hardware and software solutions that deliver exceptional return on investment and can be readily configured for mixed business models, encompassing head office to POS from one database.

“This is going to become increasingly attractive as fuel, retail and hospitality continues to converge – with customers and business owners alike looking for a seamless, effortless, experience.’’

Jorundur Jorundsson, Orbis Tech managing director, commented: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Bob to join an already highly experienced and respected team. In the coming weeks/months we will continue to build the team as part of our strategy to expand in the UK following our success in EMEA, APAC, North America and LASA countries.

“Our partnership with Invenco has already helped us to secure significant contracts in markets as diverse as Singapore, New Zealand and Peru continuing to add to the high-profile, referenceable sites Orbis Tech now supports.’’
