GreatGas Petroleum has added four forecourts to its network in Ireland. The contracts, said to be worth in excess of 10 million euros, mean the Irish owned independent fuel supplier has signed 10 new forecourts in the past six months.

It now provides fuel to more than 50 forecourts in the country – and aims to double this figure to 100 sites by 2010. The new forecourts, to be fully branded as GreatGas, are located in Arklow Road, Gorey, Co Wexford, Main Street, Clonroche, Co Wexford, Kilkenny Road, Carlow, Co Carlow, and The Ragg, Bouladuff, Thurles, Co Tipperary.

The company said the owners of the forecourts would benefit from the unique incentives offered, including an open and transparent pricing formula, a simple short-term contract and ongoing promotional campaigns. In addition, GreatGas only sources fuel from reliable and secure facilities such as ConocoPhillips’ in Whitegate, Co Cork, Ireland’s only oil refinery, and the LSS terminal in Derry.

Ray O’Sullivan, GreatGas Petroleum managing director, says this is a very exciting time for GreatGas Petroleum. “This year is continuing at the same hectic pace as 2007 with more and more forecourts opting to join the GreatGas Petroleum network nationwide. Our objective is to be supplying 100 forecourts by 2010 and I’m happy to say that we are well on our way to meeting this target.

“Since our establishment in 2006 we have grown substantially and now have GreatGas Petroleum forecourts in each of the four provinces. GreatGas Petroleum is growing so quickly that forecourt owners have noticed us and are now seeking us out. The fact that we offer a simple short term contract to members is a major selling point as most other suppliers will only offer long term, solus type contracts which are often very restrictive.

“In addition, GreatGas Petroleum has a proven record in increasing its customers’ fuel and retail turnover. Forecourt owners who have re-branded with GreatGas Petroleum have seen an average of a 22% increase in shop turnover. Some outlets have increased fuel turnover by as much as 195%. We are confident that these new forecourts will achieve similar success in the coming months.”
