Gloucestershire MP David Drew is opening a new £1.25 million garage forecourt development at Cam, near Dursley, today. The new Shell forecourt and Spar convenience store will create new jobs, bringing the total number of people employed at the Millwood Motor Company to 25.

The 150 sq metre Spar store brings seven-day convenience shopping to the area, with a large off licence offering specially selected wines, home baked food, freshly ground coffee, newspapers and magazines and lottery tickets from 7am to 10pm every day. There will also be a free-to-use cash machine, and opening hours will be kept under review with the potential for 24 hour trading.

The forecourt complex will feature a drive-through car wash with non-scratch soft brush technology, a jet wash and vacuum facilities. Everything operates 24 hours a day by means of pre-paid tickets available at the store up to seven days in advance.

Millwood’s Paul Griffith said, “We want to build on the company’s tradition of personal service by enhancing the buying experience with a facility the equal of anything in the country.”
