Quaker Snacks has introduced a new crispbread snack backed by a £10m marketing campaign.
Quaker Seasons – a mini crispbread snack containing less than 10% fat – come in three flavours: cheese, onion & chives; salt & cracked black pepper; and Caribbean chicken.
Quaker has spent more than four years and £25m developing Seasons, introducing a new manufacturing line to meet the expected demand.
Nicky Seal, PepsiCo trade marketing manager, said: “Seasons is the biggest launch Quaker has undertaken within the savoury biscuit category and satisfies the growing trend for healthier snacking.”
The light crispbread has been oven-baked and made with high Oleic sunflower oil so is low in saturated fat. In consumer taste test trials, Quaker Seasons performed as well as Walkers Sensations, which is now a £100m brand.
The January launch of Seasons will be supported by a £5m TV campaign. Single 28g packs retail at 39p, while the multipacks of four 25g bags and 120g sharing packs both have a rrp of £1.19.
