Sewell Retail was named the Forecourt Trader of the Year winner last night at a glittering awards ceremony at the London Hilton Hotel, Park Lane. The evening was hosted by veteran DJ Tony Blackburn and had a retro 70s theme, complete with an Abba tribute

band. The event was attended by about 700 guests from the petrol retailing industry.

Patrick Sewell and David Craven-Jones from Sewell Retail were presented with the award and a cheque for £3,000 by Forecourt Trader editor Merril Boulton. The presentation was the climax of the awards ceremony which saw many retailers recognised for their achievements in the service station sector.

The results are listed below, including details of the new Retailer Champion award, with more coverage due in Forecourt Trader’s October issue.

The main sponsor of the event was Palmer and Harvey. The other category sponsors were Coca-Cola Enterprises, Convenience Distribution Group, Country Choice, Ginsters, Imperial Tobacco, Nestle Rowntree, RS Sales & Distribution, Simply Coffee, Tokheim, Torex, Walkers and Wilcomatic.
