Walkers is echoing the World Cup mood with its own competition The Walkers Flavour Cup. Described as the world’s first ever ’crisp tournament’, it will see 15 new international flavours battle it out to be crowned the world’s best crisp and Walkers Flavour Cup Champion.

The new limited-edition flavours, which include English roast beef and Yorkshire pudding; French garlic baguette and Japanese Teriyaki chicken, will be going ’bag-to-bag’ this summer to compete for the hearts and taste buds of the British public, and the chance to stay on sale around the UK.

Crisp lovers can show their support for a flavour by becoming a fan at www.walkers.co.uk. The flavour with the most fans will be deemed victorious and will lift the Walkers Flavour Cup on July 12, 2010. There are also £170,000-worth of prizes up for grabs.

Ian Ellington, general manager for Walkers, said: "The British people love their Walkers crisps, so we’re giving them the chance to try a whole world of flavours. Each tasty new variety in the Walkers Flavour Cup is inspired by a delicious national dish of a different country around the world, and we want to see crisp fans united in their love of their favourite of the 15 flavours, whether it’s Dutch Edam cheese flavour, Brazilian salsa, or Argentinean flame grilled s teak. May the most popular flavour win!"

Face of Walkers, Gary Lineker, said; "Walkers have come up with an irresistible range of 15 new flavours to get Britain’s taste-buds tingling.

"At the end of the day it’s all down to the fans, so there’s everything to play for as the crisps go on sale."
