Shell on-the-go

Shell UK is focusing on developing food and coffee on-the-go offers in a bid to fuel growth on its forecourts. Addressing the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Food, Drink & Agriculture Group last week, Shell UK marketing manager David Wood explained how Shell has spent the past few months transforming the way food and coffee is retailed in its outlets to help drive growth in the face of stiff competition from the multiples. Shell has identified six core sets of customers, pinpointing ’road warriors’ as the most important to achieving its long-term goals.

Enhanced Esso fuel

Esso has changed the formulation of its petrol and diesel fuels with an enhanced additive package that can help provide improved engine responsiveness and clean vital engine parts when compared to standard fuels.

Motorists filling up with Esso energy petrol or diesel at the majority of Esso’s 900-branded service stations around the country will now be using fuels developed to help improve car engine responsiveness and help clean vital engine parts by removing harmful deposits from petrol intake valves and diesel fuel injectors.

Autogas on M25

Autogas has opened the very first LPG refuelling facilities on the M25 at Shell Cobham, Surrey, which is claiming to be the UK’s largest petrol station following its opening last month. For the first time since the motorway’s completion in 1986, drivers can now easily access the cheaper and cleaner fuel while driving on the London Orbital. The new site can cater for both clockwise and anti-clockwise traffic thanks to its own dedicated motorway junction and is conveniently located midway between Heathrow and Gatwick.
