Could this be the oldest member of the forecourt industry’s workforce?

Frank Elvin is 82 years old but still works part time at Bridge Service Station, a Petrol Express site in Alverchurch, Worcestershire. He’s been at the site for at least 20 years after retiring from a 30-year employment at Cadbury World.

Frank has a very active role at the site. His task is to keep the forecourt clean and tidy and help with the Londis deliveries. But not only that, he also cleans about 100 cars a week at the sales garage next door.

His colleague Valish Parmar, who manages Bridge Service Station, told Forecourt Trader: “Frank is a very active man – he never stops. He keeps the site up to the highest standard and is very well respected both by the customers and Petrol Express.

“He’s seen a lot of comings and goings over the years – he joined long before Petrol Express took over the site about seven years ago so he’s seen it be a Shell, a Fina, a Texaco.”

Frank is clearly a valued member of the Petrol Express team and Valish says he’s an inspiration to all his colleagues.
