Tesco is dropping the price of unleaded petrol by up to 2ppl and diesel by 1ppl from September 24.
The move follows an announcement by Asda on September 23 that it had set a new minimum national price on petrol and diesel of 131.7ppl and 137.7ppl respectively.
Tesco is also running a promotion offering customers a 5ppl discount if they spend £50 either in store or on its grocery website between Monday September 23 and Sunday September 29. They will receive a 5ppl off fuel coupon for redemption against a purchase of fuel on or before October 13 (online) or within two weeks of receiving the coupon (in-store).
It is also offering double points on Tesco Momentum99 (that’s 1 for every £1 spent) at Tesco Petrol Filling Stations.
