West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at the Tesco Ilkley Esso Express at Leeds Road, in Ben Rhydding, Ilkley.

Three men entered the store at about 11.50pm on Thursday May 22, jumped over the staff counter and threatened store workers. They then stole a quantity of cash and cigarettes before fleeing.

Two members of staff and a customer were inside the store at the time and all were shaken, although no-one was hurt.

The suspects are described as three white males, all in grey / dark tracksuit type clothing, with faces partially obscured by hoods which were pulled up. They also had balaclava type face coverings, possibly with bandanas over lower faces and were all wearing gloves.

One of the men was carrying a light brown canvas large builder’s type sack with handles.

Detective inspector Neil Benstead of Bradford District CID, said: “This is clearly a serious offence which left both staff members inside the store very shaken.

“We are appealing to any witnesses to the offence or any information as to the men responsible.

“At this stage we are not able to say what vehicle was used by the suspects but the appeal is for information from anyone witnessing a vehicle leaving the scene.”

Anyone who has information should contact Bradford District CID on 101 or CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
