United Co-operatives has spent £150,000 in refurbishing and re-branding the site, which was purchased from an independent operator earlier in the summer. Radcliffe is one of 12 new sites purchased in the past year that have increased the Food Group’s total number of forecourt sites to 35.

The store has been extensively refurbished to provide the full range of services including grocery, confectionery, newspapers and magazines, bread and milk, chilled foods, fresh meat, beers, wines and spirits, a hot food-to-go counter offering pies and pasties, and an in-house Cuisine de France bakery section. Opening hours are 6am-11pm, seven days a week.

Three new members of staff have been recruited in addition to a new manager for the site – Neville Myers.

Clive Adamson, general manager for the Petrol Division, said: “Last year was exceptionally busy for us as we built towards our five-year extension plans.”
