The Mercedes dealership seen in 2023 when it was still trading

A former Mercedes dealership in Bradford is set to be demolished and a new petrol station built in its place after planning permission for the project was sought to the local authority.

Earlier in the year EG On The Move (EGOTM) was granted permission by Bradford Council to demolish the old car dealership, which has been at the 0.4-acre site since 1963, but ceased trading in 2024. The plot sits to the north-west of the city centre, roughly a mile from Bradford Interchange railway station.

Now, EGOTM has applied for full planning permission to construct a four-pump-island forecourt in the Mercedes showroom’s place, complete with a 5,132sq ft shop and four ultra-rapid EV charging bays.

If approved, the shop’s roof will be decked out with solar panels, while the site will offer parking for 28 cars, and 20 full-time-equivalent jobs will be created.
