ConocoPhillips has confirmed that it is withdrawing the Jet brand from the southwest of the UK.

The 32 Jet dealers served from the oil company’s Plymouth Mayflower terminal will have until the end of December to source alternative supplies.

A spokesperson for ConocoPhillips said: “As a result of changes in supply and market dynamics in the South West, Jet has decided that we can no longer supply and distribute transport fuels competitively to our Jet-branded dealer customers currently served from the Plymouth Mayflower terminal beyond the end of 2011.

“We will continue to sell distillates to our wholesale customers in the southwest, on an ex rack basis, from our Plymouth Cattedown terminal, which we believe will retain our competitiveness in this segment of the market.

“This action is specific to the SW and we continue to be committed to marketing in those parts of the UK closer to our logistic strengths that allow us to grow and offer long term competitive fuel supply to our customers.”
