Certas Energy has announced a preferred supplier arrangement with Londis that will provide Certas-supplied filling stations with a fast track to Londis for expert business advice and consultancy as they look to grow revenues.
“We see this as a very positive addition to the range of benefits already available to our dealers,” said Ramsay MacDonald, retail director, Certas Energy. “Londis is one of the leading symbol groups, it is a champion for the independent retailer, and that fits well with our own philosophy.
“Many forecourt operators have successful long-term partnerships with other symbol groups and long may that continue. Certas Energy has no intention of becoming prescriptive but we do recognise that convenience is a margin bright spot for fuel retailers.
“We have been working with Londis on our company estate with impressive results and want to ensure that every Certas-supplied dealer has access to the same quality of expertise.”
MacDonald said that with oil majors aligning their promotions ever closer to the hypermarkets - Esso with Tesco Clubcard and BP with Nectar and Sainsbury with all the CRM (customer relationship management) tools at their disposal – it becomes even more critical that independent petrol retailers have expert knowledge and support at their disposal to promote their local business and to ensure they get 100% of the benefits from their customers.
Paul Courtney, Londis business development director commented: “We are delighted that Certas has chosen us as a preferred supplier and hope to welcome many of their independent dealers into the Londis brand, where, through a dedicated regional development manager, dealers will be supported to deliver a retail offer expected by shoppers.”
