PepsiCo has launched a range of coated peanuts inspired by some of its most renowned snack brands.
The That’s Nuts line-up boasts the flavours of popular crisp brands including Walkers Salt & Vinegar and Smoky Bacon, Doritos Chilli Heatwave and Flamin’ Hot, Wotsits Really Cheesy and Walkers Max Paprika.
PepsiCo believes there is still much opportunity in the nuts category, saying that some shoppers perceive existing products to be bland and boring.
This latest launch aims to appeal to a broader range of consumers to drive sales from crisp buyers and loyal brand fans, to regular nuts purchasers, and new shoppers.
The range is available in 160g packs for sharing, and 40g That’s Nuts Walkers Salt & Vinegar and Smoky Bacon bags.
They come in time for Christmas, with nuts accounting for around a third of growth in crisps, snacks and nuts over the festive period.
PepsiCo’s marketing strategy and operations senior manager, Ed Orr-Ewing, says: “Flavoured nuts are predicted to be worth over £200m in retail by 2030, and we’ve seen shoppers increasingly on the hunt for bold and exciting new flavours across the savoury snacks categories. That’s Nuts bring these trends together.”
The That’s Nuts range retails at £2.75 for 160g, and £1 for 40g.
