Maynards Bassetts is launching an on-pack promotion competition this summer, which will see the brand give away eccentric days out to more than 100 consumers.
The new on-pack promotion will celebrate the brand and nation’s personality by giving away “bonkers prizes” with the top three winners scooping a pair of flights to New Zealand, complete with £2,000 spending money and possibly tickets to the Wacky Sheep Race event.
One hundred other consumers will win tickets to a “bonkers day out” in the UK or Ireland, such as the World Pea Championships in Witcham and rabbit show jumping in Bradford, along with travel and £50 spending money. One thousand others will win a voucher for a complementary candy bag of their choice from the range.
Convenience retailers will also have the chance to win one of six £100 Love2Shop vouchers with a great ‘Bonkers’ display in their store.
To help drive awareness, there will be a £6m total brand marketing campaign in 2017, which will include TV and high impact in-store activity throughout the summer.

It includes the same packs that consumers know and love, with the addition of a quirky competition to make their British summer memorable. The summer is a peak time for candy and with attractive on pack activations offering a strong opportunity to drive rate of sale, we hope to drive further category growth.”
The Bonkers promotion will run from May 1 until August 31.
The brand is also giving retailers a chance to win with its exclusive ‘Bonkers Display’ competition! For the chance to win £100 in Love2Shop vouchers, retailers simply need to upload a photo of their Maynards Bassetts promotional bags display between May 15 and July 31 to be entered into the prize draw. There will be six winners in total.
