Storck UK is launching a series of new products across its Toffifee and Werther’s Original ranges, designed to drive confectionery sales in the lead up to and during the festive period.

Launching in August, Storck UK will unveil its first assortment gift pack, Werther’s Original Golden Mix, into the incremental £14.3m sugar gifting category, at Christmas.

The current market is heavily skewed towards fruit sweet products, which tends to appeal to a younger audience. Storck UK have identified a gap in the market for a caramel offering targeting the 45+ consumer, and with its long-established heritage it believes Werther’s Original is perfectly placed to meet this demand.

Andy Mutton, sales director, Storck UK, commented: “Christmas represents a huge opportunity for retailers, particularly within the confectionery market with 50% of people in Britain giving sweets and chocolates as gifts this Christmas. Werther’s Original, with a loyal consumer following, is perfectly positioned to offer an alternative sugar gifting option to what can be found in the category.

“The range will be supported with significant investment, including our ongoing £4m TV campaign and Werther’s Caramel shops to drive brand awareness during the festive period and remind consumers that they are “someone very special”.

The Toffifee Seasonal 400g pack, will be available from September, and is designed to be shared with the family during larger family occasions such as Christmas.
