Autogas has opened two new LPG refuelling sites in the Midlands at the Shell-branded forecourt at Hopwood Park Services at junction two of the M42 and Shell Bridgetown in Stratford-upon-Avon. The two sites have received commendation from local MPs. Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid, who officially opened the Shell Hopwood site, said: "Not only is LPG better for the environment than petrol or diesel but it is also less expensive per litre, which is good news given that many people are feeling the pinch from rising fuel prices."

Following the opening in Stratford, Nadhim Zahawi MP said: "The availability of LPG at Shell Bridgetown is very good news for motorists in the area, being both better for the environment as well as leading to significant savings and drastically reducing running costs."

LPG has an established refuelling network of 1,400 sites nationwide. The majority of Autogas-supplied facilities are located on Shell forecourts on motorways and major trunk roads.

Jem Aldridge, general manager for Autogas, said: "At a time of ever-increasing petrol and diesel prices, LPG cannot be ignored as an alternative."
