According to Auto Express magazine, Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD (Build Your Dreams) is planning to bring its cars to the UK very soon.
BYD boasts being the only company in the automotive sector that started as a battery manufacturer. It is a massive brand in China where it was number one for new energy vehicle sales for six consecutive years (2014 to 2019). Its buses are already being used in the UK. The company has apparently set itself a goal of becoming the second carmaker in the world to sell more than one million EVs in a year.
BYD recently announced that it was expanding into the Japanese market and has said it is entering Germany and Sweden via a local dealership.
Auto Express says the initial range for Europe will include a seven-seat SUV called the Tang and a saloon called the Han.
