Irish conglomerate DCC, which owns Certas Energy, has tracked 1 billion litres of fuel through its French network since it implemented an IT solution from Implico.
After DCC took over the former Esso service station network in France, Implico migrated the business’s IT and back-office processes to the cloud.
Since then, 400 service stations have been replenished entirely automatically via iGOS (Implico Global Operation Services), which provides everything from forecasting for a reliable resupply to the complete order-to-cash cycle. Each day, around five million litres of fuel flow virtually through the downstream cloud.
“With this software-as-a-service model, we achieve down-to-earth total cost of ownership, providing a flexible platform for growth,” said Peter Quinn, CIO of DCC. “This is a viable concept to win in a tough competitive environment.”
Implico bundles cloud services for the downstream industry under the iGOS brand. These data services and software-as-a-service solutions either run in Implico’s own high-performance data centre or are managed by other cloud operators, depending on what the customer requests.
