Symbol group Londis has put the HCPS unit from Hubbard Commercial Refrigeration at the heart of its forecourt store refrigeration systems.
Londis is undergoing a major expansion of its forecourt store programme, including the Londis Express fascia, and latest sites are now fully-fledged convenience stores.
Tony Riddy, retail director of Londis, said that a vital part of its concept was to get the right refrigeration. “We needed more reliable, quieter refrigeration than had previously been fitted to forecourt trading sites,” he said. “And we wanted a very high standard of service back-up.”
With a number of Londis forecourts in rural, residential and suburban areas, compressors must run quietly in the night, added Riddy. “We liked the HCPS for its low running costs and particularly for the low-noise efficiency it offers,” he said.
Hubbard’s HCPS compressors use scroll technology, which means that they have no valves or reciprocating parts, helping to reduce noise.
The full HCPS range offers a choice of 11 models in a range of temperatures. The systems’ weatherproof shell is said to offer security, safety and ease of access for servicing.
