A petrol pump has been destroyed by a car that crashed into it at the Texaco garage at Embankment Road in Plymouth, Devon.
A black Ford Focus rammed into pumps three and four and hit another car at around 5.30pm on April 2.
A fire appliance from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service’s Greenbank Fire Station attended and the crew isolated the fuel pumps, confirmed that no one was trapped and made the scene safe.
The incident is the second time a car has collided with a pump on the forecourt. In October 2006 two men were hospitalised after a taxi crashed into two petrol pumps.
Police and three fire service appliances attended the scene on that occasion, and one man was cut free from the wreckage of the car, which was left on its roof. Both men were given first aid by fire service personnel and taken to hospital by ambulance.
