Forecourt Trader of the Year winners Bhupa and Lata Gohil are supporting two of their local schools with a loyalty voucher scheme similar to the ones run by Tesco and Sainsbury.

From September, customers who spend £10 (on fuel or in their Budgens shop) will be given a voucher. Vouchers can then be collected to help either St Marys School or Albrighton Primary school, both of which are near the Gohils’ Cosford Garage in Shropshire. The schools have not yet decided what equipment they want to buy but have plenty of time as the voucher scheme will run for a year.

Lata told Forecourt Trader: “We wanted to get the locals more involved with our store, to see what we offer. We do a lot of fresh produce and British food and we want them to see that.”

The voucher scheme is being promoted in-store through the use of posters and also in the schools via posters, banners and newsletters. There will also be a leaflet drop to local houses.

Budgens has helped Lata out with advice, artwork and printing but it will be the Gohils who will pay for the equipment for the schools.
