The upswing in support provided by GroceryAid followed a significant rebrand

The charity GroceryAid, which offers help and support to those working in the grocery sector, has revealed it received a 15% increase in applications for financial support compared to the previous financial year.

Back in December the charity underwent what it termed the “biggest brand refresh in its 168-year history”, with the aim being to increase awareness of the services if offers to those working in forecourts, supermarkets and convenience stores, as well as warehouses, manufacturing plants and supply-chain firms linked to the grocery sector.

That rebrand, which included a new logo and the tagline “the help you’ve earned”, has contributed to a big upswing in grant applications, as well as 12% boost in visitors to the GroceryAid website.

Altogether the charity has supported 19,200 grocery workers, issuing financial grants to 8,162 people over 2025/36, a 3% rise on the previous year. A further 4,210 workers were provided with assistance following calls to GroceryAid helpline, while specialist funding support was issued to to 1,421 workers and a further 4,576 people were given welfare support.

Kieran Hemsworth, GroceryAid’s chief executive commented: “By investing in raising awareness of GroceryAid and the support we provide, more grocery colleagues are finding us and accessing help when they need it most. Seeing more people come forward is exactly what we set out to achieve.”
