Shell has given the final breakdown of the last 27 company-owned sites involved in the disposal of 185 sites. Chedgold is buying two sites; Golden Cross seven; HKS six; Spring Petroleum six; Synergie Holdings four; and Valli Forecourts one. MFG is also acquiring an additional site, giving it 91 from the sell-off.

Acquisition completed
DCC plc, the parent company of Certas Energy, has completed the £84m acquisition of Esso’s 274-strong Express unmanned retail petrol station network, and 48 motorway concessions in France, as well as contracts to supply about 75 dealer owned dealer operated sites. The deal was announced on August 28 last year, but required approval from the European Commission, which was granted in March.
Car wash worker arrest
A worker at a Kent car wash has been arrested by Home Office officials who suspected he was working in the UK illegally. Officers from the Kent and Sussex Immigration Enforcement team visited the CPV Hand Car Wash, at Battle Road in St Leonards on June 18.
Pay-at-pump hydrogen
The UK’s first pay-at-pump hydrogen refuelling facilities are scheduled to open in London in the autumn. ITM Power said they would be sited at the National Physical Laboratory’s National Measurement Institute in Teddington, close to the A316 and A308, and at Imperial West, Imperial College London’s new campus in White City.
Tesla superchargers
Tesla will be opening its first Supercharger stations at UK motorway sites. The company revealed that seven Supercharger stations will be added at motorway services with additional UK motorway locations in the works to be announced soon.
