Jet and LV= SOS Kit Aid are thanking Jet dealers and customers for the overwhelming support shown for the recent ‘Drop Kick Your Kit’ campaign. In September, 56 sites across the country encouraged customers to donate rugby kit in order to help disadvantaged children and young adults in Africa. Over 2,500 items of kit were collected in total during a period of three weeks – nearly 600kgs worth of rugby gear!

The donated kit is now ‘winging’ its way to Swaziland in Africa, where one of LV= SOS Kit Aid’s partner projects, SKRUM, will distribute it to children and young adults. SKRUM uses rugby to develop social skills necessary for healthyand responsible living. African children and young adults are encouraged to attend SKRUM rugby courses and, at the same time, have medical HIV/AIDS checks and receive preventative AIDS awareness programmes.

Tony Conway, Jet’s marketing manager, comments: “We are delighted with the level of support for the campaign and would like to thank everyone who made a donation.  The kit will make a big difference to the SKRUM programme and the youngsters it helps.”

John Broadfoot, co-chairman of LV= SOS Kit Aid comments: “We would like to thank the many Jet dealers, customers, clubs and schools that got involved in the ‘Drop Kick Your Kick’ campaign to help youngsters in Africa improve their health and quality of life through rugby.”
