A 29-year-old man has been charged in connection with a robbery at a petrol station in Kent.

Daryl Cook, of Simons Avenue, Chatham, was charged with robbery, being in possession of a bladed article and attempted robbery.

Police were called at 9.30pm on July 6 to reports of a robbery at the Shell garage in Maidstone Road, Rochester. It was reported a man had been threatened with what is believed to have been a knife, and his wallet and car keys were stolen.

Officers were then called to an attempted robbery the following day in Lester Road, Chatham. It was reported that a woman driver was threatened with a baseball bat for her car keys, but the offender left empty-handed.

Cook appeared at Medway Magistrates Court on July 13 where his case was committed to Maidstone Crown Court. Cook was granted bail and he will next appear at the Crown Court on Friday, August 2.
