ME Group has announced Robert Mortimer has passed away, describing him as a “driving force behind so much of what makes our company what it is today”.
The firm paid tribute to Mortimer, celebrating his “vision, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to doing right by his customers”.
As head of revolution for the ME Group, Mortimer was instrumental in the success of the firm’s Wash.Me laundrette division, and is said to have personally installed hundreds of machines.
Tributes poured in following the announcement. ME Group’s UK managing director, Vlad Crasneanscki, said his passing was a “tremendous loss”, and that Mortimer was “an incredibly special person and at the heart of everything at ME Group”.
The firm’s head of HR for UK and Ireland, Randa Behnam, said Mortimer was a “dedicated and passionate colleague” who will be “greatly missed”.
Stuart Riding, who owns Shell Corby, described Mortimer as “one of the most passionate people around”.
