A man who ran naked around a petrol-station forecourt in Swindon when under the influence of cocaine has been sentenced after pleading guilty to a host of charges.
The incident took place in the early hours of 31 January 2026 and saw Vlad Pomohaci, a 36-year-old mobile mechanic from Swindon, shout and run naked around the forecourt of a Texaco filling station on Kingshill Road.
He tried to shield his modesty with a piece of cloth during the incident, but this was unsuccessful as the cloth repeatedly slipped down. Pomohaci also threw wooden pallets at his Land Rover Discovery.
In February he admitted to driving while disqualified and driving without insurance in relation to incident, and later pleaded guilty to driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit, and outraging public decency.
On 12 August he appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court without legal representation and was advised by the District Judge that this was something he should seek out due to the seriousness of his crimes, and the fact he faced a custodial sentence.
On 26 August he returned to court for sentencing, the Swindon Advertiser reports, and was spared jail by the judge, instead receiving a four-year driving ban and an order to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
Pomohaci was also given a 16-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, meaning if he commits another crime during that period he could end up behind bars. A £241 fine, £85 court-cost order and £156 victim surcharge were also issued against him.
