A thief who stole 24 puddings from a Cambridgeshire filling station has been jailed for 26 weeks.
CCTV from a BP forecourt in Bretton, Peterborough, caught Soma Deasley, 37, stealing 38 different food items, with the majority being made up of puddings, on December 19.
Deasley’s crime spree spanned a period between November 11 and December 31 last year, and he admitted six shoplifting offences at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on January 13.
As well as being given a custodial sentence, he was also ordered to pay £565.12 in compensation.
PC Rebecca Risebrow from Cambridgeshire Police, comments: “This sentence will give the businesses targeted by Deasley some respite. My team is committed to identifying prolific offenders and putting them before the courts.”
