The man officers are seeking in relation to the incidents

Officers from Hampshire Police are appealing to members of the public for information following a series of fuel thefts.

The same forecourt – Tesco Esso Express on Beaulieu Road in the New Forest village of Dibden Purlieu – was targeted repeatedly by the man, who on three separate occasions filled his van with fuel before entering the shop to allege he had no means of payment. Fuel worth a total of £316.88 was taken.

The incidents took place on 23 and 29 December last year, and 9 January, with £101 worth of fuel being drawn during the first incident; £74 in the second; and £142 on the third occasion.

The suspect is described as a six-foot-tall white man with dark hair and beard, wearing glasses. He is believed to be between 25 and 30 years of age, and is described as being of slight to medium build.

Still images from the forecourt’s CCTV system have been released, and anyone with information pertaining to the man’s identity or whereabouts should dial 101 and cite reference number 44260012782. Alternatively, Hampshire Police can be contacted online, or an anonymous report can be made to Crimestoppers.
