A 46-year-old man has been sentenced after carrying out multiple drive-offs at the same petrol station in Prestatyn, Denbighshire.
Narian Sandu from Rhyl stole fuel worth £473.66 in five separate incidents at that Tesco filling station on May 4, 12 and 24 and on June 8 and 14, the Rhyl Journal reports.
The 46-year-old delivery driver admitted five counts of making off without payment at Llandudno Magistrates Court.
He was issued a 12-month community order, told to repay Tesco the value of the fuel he stole, must complete 130 hours of unpaid work and was issued an £85 order for court costs.
A representative of Tesco issued a statement saying: “The store has a lot of loss through theft, which means the cost of items is increased.”
They added: “Not only does theft affect Tesco, it also has a negative impact on community.”
