The firm is consistently recognised for its employee relations

Motorway services firm Roadchef has received more recognition for its work as an employer, being given two Platinum awards from Investors in People.

The new accreditations follow an award the firm received last year crowning it one of the best places to work in the UK, and come under the We Invest in People, and We Invest in Wellbeing frameworks, which assess a company’s treatment of its employees.

Platinum status, meanwhile, indicates Roadchef has demonstrated not just commitment to treating its staff fairly, but “excellence and continuous improvement” in this area.

Some 87% of Roadchef staff say the company is a great place to work, while 65% of first-line manager vacancies are given to staff already employed by the company, rather than being external appointments.

Laura Bunn, Roadchef’s HR director at Roadchef, says: “From someone joining us straight from college to someone who has been with us for 25 years, we want Roadchef to be a place where every person can build a career they’re proud of.”

Tim Gittins, the firm’s chief executive comments: “People are at the heart of our business, and creating an exceptional work environment is fundamental to our success”.
