Shell has expanded its trial with Waitrose to include its convenience products at three more sites. Shell UK Oil Products Limited (Shell), which
originally announced the trial with Waitrose in November, said the latest move followed "extremely positive feedback" from customers who had commented on the quality and enhanced choice of food and products available.
Following the successful pilot at three Shell sites in Fouroaks, Fiveways and London Road in the West Midlands, Shell said that three more sites had been added: Shell Cressex, near Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire, Shell Ockbrook in Derby and Shell Leicester.
According to Shell, the Waitrose convenience products available at the sites are offered alongside the current Shell shop assortment to enhance the range available to customers. The food range includes sandwiches, wraps and snacks, as well as a small selection of grocery items, ranging from bread and pasta to ready meals and toiletries.
Melanie Lane, Shell UK retail general manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer our customers an even greater choice when it comes to the products they purchase through Shell. By bringing together Shell’s quality fuels with Waitrose’s quality convenience foods we can offer our customers more of what they want. We think this offer will be particularly appealing to customers who spend a lot of time on the road but don’t want to compromise on taste, quality or healthier food choices.”
