The same forecourt was targeted repeatedly

A thief who targeted the same Peterborough forecourt nine times within the space of a month has been jailed.

Wasim Khan, 33 and from Fletton, Peterborough, stole alcohol, chocolate and fuel from the BP forecourt in Bretton, a parish in the town, with the offences beginning on January 24. He returned on two other occasions to steal alcohol, then drove off without paying for fuel on February 18, Peterborough Matters reports.

Khan was arrested on returning for a sixth time the following day. He was charged with five counts of theft, making off without payment, and driving without insurance.

After being released on bail by magistrates on February 20 Khan returned to the garage and stole from the shop three further times.

He subsequently pleaded guilty to nine counts of theft, as well as the drive-off and insurance offences, and received a 36-week custodial sentence.
