Changes are being made to the structure of the business behind Lindsey Oil Refinery following Total’s worldwide reorganisation of its downstream business in 2012 into two new divisions: Refining & Chemicals and Marketing & Services.

In the UK, the business is being aligned to the worldwide downstream organisation and Total UK will transfer the UK refining business and the associated logistics infrastructure to Total Lindsey Oil Refinery Limited (Total LOR), which is 100% owned by Total Group, in the second quarter of 2013.

Total LOR will incorporate the 1,000-strong workforce of contractors and employees based at the refinery in North East Lincolnshire, and in addition will include a terminal at Nottingham, the Finaline pipeline connecting Lindsey Oil refinery with the Buncefield terminal in Hertfordshire, and a commercial sales team based in the South East.

The changes will result in the creation of 24 new jobs at the North East Lincolnshire site in corporate services, terminal operations and sales.

General manager Jacques Beuckelaers said: “The new organisation will streamline our services so that there is a direct link from the refinery, to storage and then on to our customers. It will mean that we can bring product to market more easily and efficiently, increasing our ability to respond quickly and flexibly to our customers’ needs.”
