Thieves have struck in two incidents at petrol stations in the East Midlands.
In the first raid two masked men stole cash and cigarettes from the Jet Service Station in Leicester Road, Shepshed, at about 10.30pm on July 11.
Detective Constable Joanna Brown said officers wanted to trace a white Vauxhall Insignia, with the registration DE59 XTN, which the suspects drove off in. They drove down Leicester Road in the direction of the A512.
She said: "This was obviously a distressing incident and fortunately no-one was injured. We are keen to trace this vehicle and would appeal to anyone who has seen it in the area, or knows where it may be to contact the police.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident. Even the smallest piece of information could help.”
The first suspect is described as white and at least 6ft tall. He was wearing a light grey or white hooded top with the hood down and a black woolly balaclava. The second is described as white and smaller than the first suspect. He was wearing a dark blue or black hooded top with the hood down and a black woolly balaclava. He was carrying a navy drawstring bag which was around the size of A4 paper.

In the second incident an armed robber stole cash in an attack at about midday on July 16 at the Sainsbury’s petrol station in Weedon Road, Sixfields, Northampton.
A police spokesman said: “A quantity of cash was stolen and the offender had a weapon, believed to be a machete.”

The incidents are not thought to be connected.
