Budgens has extended its portfolio of branded forecourt stores with the opening of two new sites – in Barnwood, Gloucester and Bramley, Surrey.
The Total forecourt in Barnwood, owned by the Simon Smith Group, has undergone a complete knock-down rebuild development worth £1million.
Partner of the group, Susie Hawkins, said they have given the site a “futuristic look” with a curved canopy with red LED lighting which glows at night.
The forecourt features a doubled-sided Washtec Eco Prisma jet wash and Softcare Pro rollover, which is thought to be the highest spec carwash in the
country. Inkeeping with the futuristic look is a steel
carwash building with blue-tinted glass.
The Budgens shop, which opens its doors 24 hours a day, is 2,800sq ft with hot food-to-go, off licence, a comprehensive range of chilled and fresh foods, and Print Pod digital photo printing machine.
Bramley Budgens, meanwhile, has a 3,000sq ft shop with a full range of essentials including hot food and off licence. Site owner Mike Willman has run the forecourt for nearly two years following a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
“After trading as an independent we believe that with Budgens as a partner we can achieve full potential from the development,” he said. “We have a great site and Budgens can supply us with an excellent range – particularly fresh foods – which is really important to our customers.”
