Taranjit Singh Dhillon joins Nisa from rival One Stop

Nisa has appointed Taranjit Singh Dhillon head of retail to help the symbol group deliver its ambitious growth plans.

He joins Katie Secretan’s retail and sales leadership team, and will be responsible for the development and delivery of the company’s retail strategy across its diverse network of customer stores.

He joins from rival One Stop where he was responsible for overseeing a network of 350 franchisees, working with retail teams to optimise store layouts, and implementing a strategy to maximise revenue and profitability.

Prior to One Stop, he held senior roles at Lidl and PepsiCo, and he has over 20 years in retail.

Nisa says that his wide-ranging experience puts him in a strong position to lead its expansion and growth efforts, focusing on practical, customer-focused solutions ”that make a real difference for independent retailers”.

Katie Secretan, director of sales and retail at Nisa, says: “I’m thrilled to have Taranjit join the Nisa team. His hands-on experience in independent retail and ability to build franchise relationships is exactly what we need to take our retailer proposition to the next level, and I’m confident he’s the right person to lead our retail team. Taranjit’s fresh ideas and proven success in driving growth will be key in helping us achieve our long-term strategy.”

The announcement comes after Nisa’s former head of retail Victoria Lockie becomes retail director for Unitas Wholesale. In her new role Lockie, who worked for Nisa for 12 years, will oversee areas of growth in retail, including the buying group’s ongoing Plan for Profit category management scheme launched in 2021.
