Walkers is bringing back its original Monster Munch snack.

The move means a return of the old version - with bigger, crunchier snacks, bigger pack format and retro pack design featuring the iconic Monster characters.

The launch will be supported by an online PR and marketing campaign.

Original Monster Munch, now called Mega Monster Munch, is being revived specifically for the impulse channel to help drive growth in the single-serve bagged snacks sector, which is worth £163m in impulse, up 2.4% year on year, according to AC Nielsen figures.

The decision to bring back original Monster Munch, targeted at adults, follows consumer research which revealed huge nostalgia for the iconic brand and a preference for the old texture, flavour, crunchiness and the larger size of the corn snack.

They are available in roast beef, pickled onion and flamin’ hot flavours in a 40g pack, rrp 50p.
