ou can tell football season is under way again because of all the promotional activity tied into the ’beautiful game’. McCoy’s, for example, as part of its second season as the ’Official Crisp Partner of the Football League’, has announced an on-pack promotion and a heavyweight marketing campaign.

The McCoy’s ’Win Your Club’ promotion, which is running until November, offers an array of ’money-can’t-buy’ prizes. These include a ’Win Your Club’ ultimate package which gives behind-the-scenes access, the chance to meet the team and more. Fans can also win free tickets and branded merchandise.

Meanwhile Irn-Bru, which is the ’Official Soft Drink Partner of The Football League’ for the next three years, is giving football fans the chance to win the ’Ultimate Match Day Experience’. This, the brand’s first national football on-pack promotion, kicks off this month and runs for 10 weeks. Consumers have the chance to win VIP match packages for any Sky Bet Football League fixture or Ladbrokes SPFL match. In addition, football fans will be able to win exclusive Irn-Bru branded footballs.

Finally, Ginsters is sponsoring footie highlights show Football League Tonight on Channel 5. The 90-minute programme features six 10-second ads highlighting Ginsters’ most popular savoury lines: large sausage roll, peppered steak slice and original Cornish pasty. Nearly half of all Ginsters’ core consumers will have seen the ads at least 18 times by the end of the season.
