Heinz is taking the next step in its ‘Bake Beanz Strategy’ with the launch of Heinz Mean Beanz, a range of spicy beans.
Mean Beanz come in four flavours – sweet chilli, Mexican, tikka and jalfrezi – and each recipe is blended with up to 15 spices.
Heinz launched its baked bean growth strategy last year with the relaunch of the brand, new packaging, lower salt levels, increased emphasis on nutritional values, the new reduced sugar and salt variety, and the multi-million pound Superbean campaign.
Simon Breckon, senior brand manager for Heinz, says: “Indian, oriental and spicy foods are now part of everyday life in snacks, cooking sauces and in the chilled and frozen aisles. We have leveraged this consumer trend.”
