Ferrero is expanding its Kinder brand from January, with the launch of a new range of bite-sized chocolate for sharing or on-the-go treating.
The range comprises: Kinder Choco-Bons, Chocolate Mini and Chocolate with Cereals Mini.
All of the variants come in two sizes 26.5g-30g and 95g-108g, retailing at 54p and £1.55 respectively. All packs include individually wrapped bite-sized chocolates, with the larger sharing options featuring a re-sealable tab.
This format is said to encourage responsible portion control.
Ferrero customer development director, Levi Boorer, said: "This move marks an important new chapter for Kinder and forms an integral part of Ferrero’s future plans. Kinder is a star performer in the confectionery category, as a £80m brand that is up 52.6% (Nielsen) in value terms in a relatively flat market."
The launch will be supported with a heavyweight campaign with a £1.3m TV ad featuring the tag line, ’Invented for kids, loved by everyone’. There will also be tailored in-store promotions and displays, and sampling. A selection of free pos is available to order from the Ferrero trade website.
