Nestlé is extending its Rowntree’s Randoms with the launch of Rip’ems. These comprise eight peelable strings in four fruity flavours: apple, blackcurrant, orange and pineapple.

The company says the product’s bar-shaped format is a ’first’ for sugar confectionery.

The sweets contain 25% fruit juice but no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Targeted at 16-to-24-year-olds, Randoms Rip’ems come in a single pack, rrp 50p, and a 10-pack, rrp £1.55. The larger pack is perforated so the sweets can be separated easily into portions. The launch is backed by a major media campaign including TV and outdoor advertising as well as POS material. Randoms Rip’ems join the recently launched Randoms Squidgy Speak.
