The latest special-edition pasty from Ginsters is chicken balti, which replaces the ham, leek & cheese variant. The new pasty is made with British chicken marinated in a spicy balti sauce together with potato, onion and peppers in light puff pastry.Recommended retail price is £1.99.

A number of the previous recipes have been classic British combinations but chicken balti, while not originally being a British flavour, is very much an indication of what has become a traditional British taste."
