Pringles is introducing a new salt & pepper line to the convenience sector.
Brand owner Kellogg’s says that while the core four Pringles lines (original, salt & vinegar, sour cream & onion and Texas BBQ) remain vitally important best-sellers, the extended flavour range presents a huge opportunity to retailers. The company reports that past launches such as prawn cocktail and smokey bacon resulted in average incremental sales increases of up to 50%.
Fiachra Moloney, Pringles marketing manager UK and Ireland, commented: "Historically, new variant launches have been hugely popular and have shown that consumers get excited by new flavours, so we’re confident salt & pepper will be a big success."
