Premier Foods has extended its range of Cadbury cakes with the introduction of new Cadbury Hot Cakes, offering shoppers an after dinner cake dessert for the first time.
The new range of after dinner treats come as a twin-pack and will be available in two flavours: Double Chocolate and ButterScotch.
Cadbury Hot Cakes are made up of layers of Cadbury sponge that contain either a butterscotch or chocolate filling. The cake sandwich is covered in Cadbury’s Milk Chocolate which, when heated for 15 seconds, provides an indulgent dessert.
Karmel Maletta, innovation controller on Cadbury at Premier Foods, comments: “The tea time category in which the Cadbury Hot Cakes sit is the largest sub category within ambient cake now worth £390m. The launch of Hot Cakes will take the Cadbury Cake brand into this new territory for the very first time.
“We are really excited by the launch of Hot Cakes as they will be taking Cadbury Cakes into the teatime category and providing shoppers with a new option for their after dinner dessert. Cadbury Hot Cakes aims to trade-up those that already shop within the category but also attract new shoppers and taking the cake brand to an older audience as well as the loyal Cadbury Cake shoppers.”
